The Power To Choose
God loves us that He gave us the power to choose. Regardless of your religious belief and affiliation, you have to understand that you have this power to choose. It’s your freedom. Most of your choices has nothing to do with your religion such us your choice of car, your choice of course to take up in college, your choice of shoes, your choice of bags and other personal belongings, vacation, classmates, friends, relationships, etc. Even when your religious belief threatens to interfere, you still make your choice against the teachings of your church. Simply because you are just human. Sometimes, you tend to abuse your freedom of choice. Well, that may be normal. The problem is, when something goes wrong with what you chose, you blame the God that gave you the freedom. You blame other people, as well. But sometimes you avoid blaming yourself.
Do not forget that together with your freedom to choose is responsibility. You are responsible for whatever you choose to buy, to be with, to go with, to eat, to drink, to say, to act upon, to spend, to help, etc. Even when other people like your parents or your friends help you to make your decision through their advice and opinion, at the end of the day, you are still responsible for whatever decision you have to make.
Do not blame others for the mistake that you make. It’s you who make the choice for yourself, not them. Why not just try to learn from the mistake that you make, instead of blaming them.
Most of all, NEVER blame God, whether directly or indirectly. God loves you. He does not want to hurt you. He will never do that to you. Do not forget the saying that God helps those who help themselves.
Try to find your quiet time and begin to listen to your soul, to your higher self. Then talk to God and don’t forget to listen well. Only when you become quiet, you will hear God’s voice. Ask for wisdom and understanding so that you will find it hard to make mistake with the many choices that you have, the second time around.
